Built for teams
Microsoft promised a comprehensive tool for Office 2016 that would make professional and private collaboration much easier. But the feature initially ended up exclusively in the subscription service. With the release of Office 2019, the first steps towards implementation finally followed – at least for Word documents. Excel tables or PowerPoint slides could previously only be edited in the online app by several people at the same time. Office 2021 Home and Business, in turn, brings all versions of the software together through so-called co-authoring. It doesn’t matter whether colleagues or friends access via a mobile device or a Microsoft 365 account. The cooperation works just as well as the integration of Microsoft teams.
So save yourself the constant e-mail traffic with annoying inquiries and communicate directly at the source. Changes happen in real-time, while absent team members (according to their preferences) only get a quick notification. The background is the use of OneDrive, the cloud from Microsoft. Data that you create with the Office 2021 Home and Business programs must therefore be stored there. If there is still a change ahead of you, you can see this as an opportunity to clean up your computer a bit. Because if you log in with your Microsoft account, OneDrive immediately gives you 5 GB of storage space. Of course, these can be expanded if necessary.
Selected content and features
Outlook really shines in Microsoft Office 2021 Home and Business for Mac. An optimized quick search replaces the old search bar and can browse entire archives in no time. That way you won’t lose any more mail. If you are also traveling in several languages, you will be happy to hear that the translator add-in is now part of Outlook as standard. Without any ado, the translation runs completely automatically and is displayed at the edge of your reading area. You have over 70 languages at your disposal.
In general, Office 2021 received various refreshments and thus adapted the design to the brand new Windows 11. PowerPoint also presents itself in a new guise. You can apply the look to your slides straight away by drawing as you please. Freehand strokes can beautify your transitions or guide your presentation informatively. It is even possible to reproduce each individual stroke afterwards. Or you just save everything as a GIF. In this way, important topics can be shared even better.
